As an agency, can I use Platfio for free?
Yes, you can add unlimited businesses and team members to a Platfio agency account for free. You can also use the plan and proposal tools for free. If you choose to build apps using Platfio you will need to put each app onto a plan. Similarly, if you choose to use Platfio's payment processing facility to get paid by customers, transaction fees will apply.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The Essential agency plan comes with a 60-day free trial so you can explore the platform before committing. You can add unlimited businesses, use the plan and proposal builders, and get a feel for how Platfio fits your agency.
What is the difference between agency plans and app plans?
Agency plans are designed for agencies who want to build and manage multiple apps for the businesses they work with. These plans include features like unlimited businesses, team management, proposal builders, and client management tools. App plans are for individual applications and include features like authentication, chat, eCommerce, and user management. Agency plans allow you to create and manage multiple apps, while app plans are priced per individual application.
How does payment processing work?
Platfio offers optional payment processing for proposals and in-app purchases. Transaction fees vary by agency plan — 9% on Essential, 7% on Growth, 5% on Scale, and custom rates on Enterprise. You are never obligated to use Platfio's payment processing.
What are app hosting commissions?
When you build and host apps for your clients on Platfio, you can earn commissions on those subscriptions. The commission rate depends on your agency plan — 0% on Essential, 5% on Growth, 10% on Scale, and custom rates on Enterprise.

Your App Pricing Questions, Answered
Wondering who pays, how billing works, or what happens when your client's app outgrows its plan? Here's everything you need to know about per-app pricing, upgrades, and store accounts.
Who pays for the app, the agency or the business?
Either can. If a payment card is added to the business's account, then the fees due for that application will be deducted from the business's card. However, if no card is added to the business's account, the fees for that application will be deducted from the agency's account.
Can I add margins to the apps that we build on Platfio?
Yes, absolutely. When you set up the business's subscription, you can set the price to any value you like. For example, if the plan costs $399/month and you receive a 10% agency discount ($360), you can charge your client $999/month. The difference is credited to your agency. This is a great way to bundle services and add margins.
Do app plans include App Store and Play Store accounts?
Standard app plans do not include dedicated store accounts. Apps are deployed to your agency's managed accounts. If you need a specific store account for an individual app, this is available on the Enterprise app plan, giving you or your client full control over that app's store presence.
Can apps be moved between plans?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade an app's plan at any time. When upgrading, new features become available immediately. When downgrading, higher-tier features will be disabled at the end of the current billing cycle.
What happens if an app exceeds its user or storage limit?
You'll be notified when approaching your plan's limits. To continue growing, you can upgrade to a higher app plan with increased capacity. There is no hard cutoff — we'll work with you to ensure a smooth transition.
